There Is Still Good In Us

I think we all can remember where we were twelve years ago today.  We can remember the exact moment we found out, how our hearts sank.  Fear, confusion, anger, heartbreak are only some of the emotions we, as Americans, felt that day.

Time healed deep wounds.  So many loved ones were lost that day.  And in the years to follow so many loved ones fought the war to seek out justice.

While there is evil that cannot be contained, my prayer is that we reach out our hand to our neighbor, our friend, even a stranger and show compassion.  We have allowed fear to consume our souls it makes it impossible to love or to live.

We don't need to remember to follow these simple acts of kindess because of the anniversary of a tragedy.  We should remember to do this because it is in each and every one of us.   It takes less work to be selfless than to be selfish.  Let's all do what comes naturally when the fear is removed.

I ask just one favor.  As we remember those that left us too soon,  in honoring their memory, fulfill an act of kindness.   Encourage your children to do the same.  Maybe it's just a hug or holding the door for someone, spread joy to someone and let that joy and peace consume us all.

God Bless
